What Happens During a Tarot Session?

Connecting with your energy

It’s important that the reader and the seeker form a connection before starting a read, as it opens up a clearer channel for energies to guide the session. The session will open with an energy clearing using incense or sage. (Please note: This can be removed if you are allergic or choose not to be cleansed in this manner). We will then connect with some breathwork to help combine our intention and energy in the session.

Setting your intention (Questions)

Next I will ask you to make your intention to the universe and the energy that surrounds us. The intention or question can be open, but the more specific it is, the better. It allows us to be more focused and pull energy surrounding that frequency.

For example: Will I get a new job this year? is different from, When will I get a new job? and both require a different perspective. The first requires energies that give a positive or negative answer; the latter requires a spread that shows a timeline to be able to highlight when the event will happen.

However, the most important thing above all during the read is to hold the intention of the read at all times; this allows us to pull in the energy required for the divination.

The Reading

The reading itself is done in a more sociable and personal manner than most Tarot readers because I feel it’s important that the energy and communication flow freely between both reader and seeker. The concept of a Tarot read, in my opinion, is to collectively piece together what the cards show; the more you get involved, the more energy builds, and the clearer the answers become.

Please Note: The reader is essentially acting as a conduit for the seeker’s energy while helping interrupt the energy of the cards through intuition, feeling and knowing of the cards from experience.

I open the read with a few cards to start the energy off, and then we will work through them as we talk. I will continue to shuffle and draw cards to get confirmations during the conversation. This highlights the energies we are focusing on at the time.

I work with 10+ decks, including Tarot and Oracle, that range from Chakra energies, Moonology, Elemental oracles, Vedic wisdom and more. In my opinion, more is better, as it allows for multiple energies and frequencies to appear. “I compare it to having more colours to paint with.”
